Tual City is located in Maluku Province. This city is a city with 66 small islands. From those many islands, there are only 13 islands which are inhabitted. This city is a result of expansion of Maluku Tenggara district. Tual is rich of sea products. So, you can easily find fascinating sea-beauty while visiting Tual, such as Ngurbloat Beach welcoming you with the softest sand in the world.
In the time of Netherlands occupancy, there was an organization settled in Maluku Tenggara called Recht Streek Bestuurde Gebieden. At that time, Tual, Dodo, Saumlaki and Wonreli were ruled by Hooft Van Plaasselyk (the head of local government). In 1984, Tual City became the capital of Onder Afdeling Kei Eenlanden ruled by a residency assistant. After the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Maluku Tenggara became a part of Maluku Selatan. In 1951, Tual became the capital of Maluku Tenggara. In 2007 Tual became an autonomous city after the law of autonomy for Tual was published.

A tourism spot you need to come to in Tual City is Ngurbloat Beach, known also as Pasir Panjang Beach. At this beach you can see very amazing beach panorama and soft like-flour sand, believed as the softest sand in the world. Don't forget to come to Hawang Cave which offers you fascinating nature scenery and clear blue cave water. In Banda Ely village, a cultural village, you can find the social life which are still preserving the tradition and see for yourself the process of making several kinds of handicraft like silver, iron and earthenware.

The best place for snorkeling in Tual City is at Ngursarnadan and Kapal Island water area. Enjoy the freshness and mildness water while soaking and swimming at Nen Masil Evu estuary. At Ohoidertawun Beach, you can go to a cliff with ancient painting on it using boat.
Things to eat
In Tual City, there's a typical food you can bring back home as gifts. It's nuts in a bottle. This food is made of peanut seasoned by spices then fried by hot sand and put in a bottle. There's also embal. This food has several kinds like embal goring, embal lempeng kacang, embal lempeng keju and lut-luthak (a kind of embal cooked with nut or canary). Embal is made of plaque-like tuber. This food is perfectly served with milk or dip into tea or coffee.
